How to set the maximum log level for all logged services

Description

This article explains the steps required to set the general log level at its maximum value

Resolution

For versions 5.x and 6.x use this procedure:

The server overall log level is set in a log rule that overrides any higher level settings (per service settings). If you set the maximum log level for the IMAP service and the general log level is limited only to "Warning Messages", the general rule will be applied.

  • Log into the webadmin as the "admin" account.
  • Go to the "Logging" -> "Log Collection Rules" context.
  • Edit the rule settings for the log file you are using (by default Axigen uses "everything.txt").
  • In the "Logging" section, make sure "Protocol Communication" is selected.
  • Click the "Save Configuration" button.

For versions prior to 5.x use this procedure:
  • Go to the "Log" context (left side).
  • Click the "Rules" tab (upper-right corner).
  • Click the "Edit" button next to the rule in the list with the priority "100" (or the desired log rule).
  • In the "Log Level" section (fourth from the top down) mark all the checkboxes.
  • Click the "Update" button (top-left of the main page).
  • Click the "Commit" button (top-right corner).
  • Go to the "Commands" context.
  • Click the "Save config" button.
