Set up SSL for the webadmin interface

Article updated on 08 July, 2008

Description

This article describes how to set up the use of secure sockets layer for the webadmin interface service.

Resolution

Use the following procedure to set up the use of SSL for the Webadmin interface:

1. Log in as the admin user on the webadmin interface.
2. Go to the "Services" -> "Webadmin" context.
3. In the "Listeners" section, click the "Edit" button next to the listener you wish to make secure.
4. Select the "SSL Settings" tab.
5. Check the option "Enable SSL for this listener".
6. Make sure the "Path to certificate file" field contains a valid path to a .pem certificate.

NOTE: If you do not have a certificate you can use the default one generated during the installation. Its path is <axigen_var_parh>/axigen_cert.pem

The <axigen_var_path> is either "/var/opt/axigen", "/var/axigen" or "C:\Program Files\Axigen Mail Server" depending on your operating system.
