Each email client requires a specific configuration procedure when setting up your IMAP service. Here are the configuration steps for some of the most common email clients:

MS Outlook Express 6

  1. Under the Tools menu, click Accounts.
  2. In the Mail Accounts window, click on the Add Mail button. This will open the Account Wizard.
  3. Fill in Display Name with your real name, then press Next.
  4. Fill the Email Address field with your-username@axigenmail.com address.
  5. Click Next to go to the next page and select IMAP4 as incoming server type.
  6. Enter axigenmail.com both in the Incoming mail server and in the Outgoing mail server field. Click Next, when you're done.
  7. Fill in your-username in the Username field and your password in the Password field.
  8. Complete your account setup by clicking the Finish button.
  9. In the already opened Mail Accounts window, select your newly created account and press the Properties button.
  10. In the Properties window, press the Servers tab.
  11. Check the My server requires authentication option, in order to be able to send messages via the axigenmail.com server, then press OK.

MS Outlook 2000 (from Office 2000)

  1. Under the Tools menu, click Accounts.
  2. In the Mail Accounts window, click on the Add Mail button>. This will open the Account Wizard.
  3. Fill in Display Name with your real name, then press Next.
  4. Fill the Email Address field with your-username@axigenmail.com address.
  5. Click Next for the next page and select IMAP4 for the incoming server type.
  6. Enter axigenmail.com both in the Incoming mail server and in the Outgoing mail server field. Click Next, when you're done.
  7. Fill in your-username in the Username field and your password in the Password field.
  8. Finish your account setup by clicking the Finish button.
  9. In the already opened Mail Accounts window, select your newly created account and press the Properties button.
  10. In the Properties window, press the Servers tab.
  11. Check the My server requires authentication option, in order to be able to send messages via the axigenmail.com server then press OK.

MS Outlook XP / MS Outlook 2003

  1. Under the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts.
  2. In the E-mail Accounts window, choose Add new e-mail account.
  3. Press Next and choose IMAP as server type.
  4. Press Next, on the following page, fill out the following fields:
    • Your Name: your real name
    • E-Mail Address: your-username@axigenmail.com
    • Incoming mail server (IMAP): axigenmail.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): axigenmail.com
    • User Name: your-username
    • Password: your account password
  5. Press the More settings button and click on the Outgoing Server tab.
  6. Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication option, and press OK.
  7. Press Next and then finish setting your account by pressing the Finish button.

Eudora

  1. Under the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. In the Getting Started page, fill out the following fields as directed:
    • Real Name: your real name (this name will be displayed in the From: field of your outgoing messages
    • Email address: your-username@axigenmail.com
    • Mail Server (Incoming): axigenmail.com
    • Username field: your-username
    • SMTP Server (Outgoing): axigenmail.com
    Then, make sure that Allow authentication option is checked (otherwise you won't be able to relay mails through axigenmail.com).
  3. On the Incoming Mail page, make sure that you have chosen IMAP as Server configuration.

The Bat!

  1. Under the Account menu, click New.
  2. Choose an account name, and click Next.
  3. Fill in the Full Name, Email address and Organization fields with the appropriate values.
  4. Enter your-username@axigenmail.com in the email address field.
  5. Click Next and select IMAP4 as the protocol for accessing mail.
  6. Enter axigenmail.com in both Incoming mail server address and SMTP server address boxes.
  7. Also, check the My SMTP server requires authentication for sending mail option (otherwise you won't be able to send messages through axigenmail.com).
  8. Press Next and enter your-usernamein the Username box and your account password in the Password field.
  9. Complete your account setup in the next screen by pressing the Finish button.

IncrediMail

  1. Under the Tools menu, click Accounts.
  2. In the Mail Accounts window, click on the Add button, which will open the Account Wizard.
  3. In the first page, choose Let me configure settings myself.
  4. Enter your full name in the Your name is box and your-username@axigenmail.com address in the Your email address box.
  5. Click Next to go to the next page and select IMAP4 as incoming server type.
  6. Enter axigenmail.com both in Incoming mail server and Outgoing mail server fields.
  7. Click Next, enter your-username in the Username field and your password in the Password field.
  8. Complete your account setup by clicking the Finish button.
  9. In the Properties window, press the Servers tab and check the My server requires authentication option, in order to be able to send messages via the axigenmail.com server, then press OK.

Mozilla Suite (Mail and Newsgroups)

  1. Under the Edit menu, click on the Mail and Newsgroups Accounts Settings option.
  2. In the window opened, click on Add Account button to start the Account Wizard.
  3. On the first wizard screen, select Email account, click Next and enter your full name. In the email address field, enter your-username@axigenmail.com.
  4. Press Next to go to the next screen, then select IMAP as type of incoming server and enter axigenmail.com in the address field.
  5. Click Next and enter your-username in the incoming username box.
  6. Finally, enter your account name (Mozilla specific setting)to finish adding the account.
  7. While you're still in the Mail and Newsgroups Accounts Settings window, press the Outgoing Server (SMTP) option and then, in the right panel, enter axigenmail.com in the Server Name field and check the Username and password option. Then enter your-username in the Username edit box.
  8. Finish setting your account by pressing OK.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Under the Tools menu, click on the Accounts Settings option Incoming.
  2. In the window opened, click on Add Account button to start the Account Wizard.
  3. On the first wizard screen, select Email account, click Next and enter your full name. Then enter your-username@axigenmail.com in the e-mail address field.
  4. Click Next to go to the next screen, select IMAP type of incoming server and fill in the address field axigenmail.com value.
  5. Click Next and enter your-username the incoming username box.
  6. Finally, enter your account name (Thunderbird's specific setting) to finish adding the account.
  7. While you're still in the Mail and Newsgroups Accounts Settings window, press the Outgoing Server (SMTP) option and then, in the right panel, press Add and in the SMTP Server window, fill in the Server Name option with the axigenmail.com value and check the Username and password option, then enter your-username in the Username edit box.
  8. Press OK and finish setting your account by pressing OK, again.
