Definitions
Mailboxes
For the purpose of determining the size of a license, this is the total number
of mailboxes that can be defined at server level (e.g.: a license of 25 mailboxes).
In some other materials you can find the term users
User Groups
An email address associated with one or more mailboxes for distribution; you can define as many user groups as mailboxes; (e.g.: for a 25 mailbox license you can define another 25 user groups).
Aliases
An alternate email address for a mailbox; you can define maximum 256 aliases per mailbox (e.g.: for a 25 mailbox license you can define 25 x 256 aliases).
Mail lists
You can define as many mail lists as the number of mailboxes, each of them having a reference mailbox (e.g.: for a 25 mailbox license you can define 25 lists, having additional 25 mailboxes).
Perpetual License
By purchasing a Business or ISP Edition AXIGEN license, the customer is entitled to use that specific version of the acquired product for an unlimited period.
OpenSite License
Unlimited mailboxes at one location.
MultiSite License
Unlimited mailboxes, servers multiple locations.
Licensing per product
AXIGEN Business Edition
- Mailboxes: The total number of unique users defined on all AXIGEN servers in one location cannot be higher than the number of mailboxes specified in the license.
- Domains: You can define as many domains as needed, the number of domains cannot exceed the maximum number of mailboxes.
- Servers: You are allowed to use AXIGEN Business Edition on one server. Additional servers in one location for back-up or testing purposes available on demand, free of charge.
- Locations: You are allowed to use AXIGEN Business Edition in only one location.

AXIGEN Enterprise Edition

- Servers: You are allowed to use AXIGEN Enterprise Edition on one server. Additional servers in one location for back-up or testing purposes available on demand, free of charge.
- Locations: You are allowed to use AXIGEN Enterprise Edition in only one location.
AXIGEN Service Provider Edition
- Mailboxes: The total number of unique users defined on all AXIGEN servers in one location cannot be higher than the number of mailboxes specified in the license
- Domains: You can define as many domains as needed, the number of domains cannot exceed the maximum number of mailboxes.
- Servers: You are allowed to use AXIGEN Service Provider Edition on an unlimited number of servers, in one location. Default licence is for one server, aditional front-end and back-end servers available on request free of charge.
- Locations: You are allowed to use AXIGEN Service Provider Edition in only one location.

AXIGEN Office Edition
- License is limited to 5 users and 1 domain and no lists are included.
- You are allowed to use AXIGEN Office Edition on only one machine.
Upgrades & Technical Support
Upgrade to a newer version of Axigen
Version upgrade is free of charge for the same software product, feature set and license configuration as long as the Technical Support and Maintenance subscription is active. Version Upgrade contains all patches for previous versions, and new core features therefore you are strongly advised to use the latest version available in order to stay protected from potential security breaches.
Technical Support & Maintenance can be provided for the latest two versions available.
Upgrade to more mailboxes and locations
The volume upgrade is performed upon order, by requesting the desired upper pack. The upgrade value is charged as the difference between the present list value of the old license and the new license value. The result is the upper license pack (upgraded license) that includes the new limit on license parameters (e.g. mailboxes, locations, etc), as ordered.
Licenses without active software maintenance are not subject of upgrades.
Upgrade to more features
The features upgrade is performed upon order, by requesting the desired add-on pack with the current price list value. The Feature Upgrade Fee is applicable on the existing license volume parameters (e.g. mailboxes, servers, etc).
The Features upgrade is available only during a valid Technical Support subscription. It is also considered for subsequent Technical Support calculation.

Maintenance & Technical Support renewal
If a Maintenance & Technical Support subscription renewal is not ordered before the current subscription's expiration, a new license has to be purchased. Maintenance and technical support fees are based on updated list prices, as valid in the moment of purchase.
