  • search function does not work

    AXIGEN Mail-Server 10.1.4 (Linux/x64)

    Hello,

a few days ago the search function within the webmail (both the "in-line" and the one that offers more options) returns, in absolutely random times, "0" results, while it should return some results (searches have been made with established values in the mails but the search returns "0" results in a fraction second).

This is done with both ajax and standard interface on Windows 7 and Windows 10 workstations and with the Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer (and Edge for Windows 10) browsers all updated, as well as the underlying operating systems.

    Regards
    Andrea

      Hello Florin,

today the research works correctly but it had already happened that it did not work and then resumed doing so.

I will check with the indicated commands if it happens again.

      Regards,
      Andrea

            Hello,

we tried to rebuild the search-indexes for affected account and this is the response:

            ########

            Purging disposable meta data
Cannot delete search index for mailbox Sent: No such file or directory

            ###
            <domain-account#> SHOW SearchIndexStatus allfolders

            Filtered Email/inbox_2010 : updating
            CV : scheduled
            inbox_2012/xxxx/mail/Controllare : scheduled
            inbox_2012/xxxx/mail/Spam0 : scheduled
            Tasks : scheduled
            INBOX : error failed
            Collected Addresses : scheduled
            Trash : scheduled
            Sent : warning scheduled
Found 17 folders with requested search index execution status

            +OK: command successful
            ########

We also tried to rebuild the search-indexes for single folder INBOX in "error failed" status and this is the response, the status il always the same

            ########
<domain-account#> PURGE disposableMetadata searchIndexes folder INBOX

Purging disposable meta data for folder: INBOX

            +OK: command successful
            ###
            <domain-account#> SHOW SearchIndexStatus folder INBOX

            Folder search-index execution status:
            INBOX : error failed

            +OK: command successful
            ########

Reading "scheduled" as output on other folders, we tried after some minutes the SHOW command:

            ########
            <domain-account#> SHOW SearchIndexStatus allfolders

            The search-index execution status:

            Folders search-index execution status:
            inbox_2016 : error
            inbox_2015 : error
            Ticket : updated warning
            inbox_2013 : error
            inbox_2014 : updated
            inbox_2012 : error
            inbox_2011 : error
            blacklisted : updated
            Filtered Email/inbox_2010 : updated
            CV : updated
            inbox_2012/xxxx/mail/Controllare : updated warning
            inbox_2012/xxxx/mail/Spam0 : updated
            Tasks : updated
            INBOX : error failed
            Collected Addresses : updated
            Trash : updated warning
            Sent : scheduled
Found 17 folders with requested search index execution status

            +OK: command successful
            ########

Then we launched the command again on the INBOX folder only, but the result is always the same and does not appear "scheduled" as it appears instead with the "inbox_2016" folder.

            ########
<domain-account#> PURGE disposableMetadata searchIndexes folder inbox_2016

Purging disposable meta data for folder: inbox_2016

            +OK: command successful
            ###
            <domain-account#> SHOW SearchIndexStatus folder inbox_2016

            Folder search-index execution status:
            inbox_2016 : error scheduled

            +OK: command successful
            ########

The problem of the INBOX folder at what could be due to? Perhaps at the content of the messages?

            Regards,
            Andrea

                  Hello Florin,

waiting for your answer, we created a temporary "sales2" account, enabled remote pop3 to the "sales" account only for the Inbox directory and for the first 3 days the search option on "sales2" worked, but today it returns "0" also results on this account, so we have run the commands via shell and these are the results:

                  ####

                  ####
