Backing Up one server, restoring to another

Good Morning!

I have a customer that is currently using Axigen Ver 9 on a linux server. They are purchasing new hardware and The latest version of Axigen for Linux.

While I have used the migration tool in the past, it can be cumbersome as not all clients remember their password (saved in outlook), and I like to have accounts migrated before install so I can recreate groups and aliases, etc.

Can I just use the FTP backup program to backup the current configuration and restore it on the new server?

Hi
I suggest you to copy the entire axigen working directory from old server to new one, then migrate to new versions.

The quickest solution will be, Install the Axigen ver 9 on the new machine and after copy the entire directory to replace everything. Start axigen and upload the new license. Then perform the UPGRADE method as written on axigen guides.

All your settings / everything will retain as is. you don’t need to do anything after the upgrade. Just stop the old server and put on the new server.
