CardDav Sync Issues

I’ve got a new install of Axigen set up on my Windows server to see if it’s a candidate to replace my old email system. I’m currently fighting my way through contacts and CardDav syncing issues. My 2 clients are eM Client on Windows and an iPhone Contacts. To begin with I exported my contacts as CSV from Zoho webmail and imported them into Axigen Webmail. This seemed to work OK, but I’ll list out my subsequent issues below:

  • Pretty much every time I try to update a contact (e.g. adding a simple email address) I get an error in the web interface “The contact info could not be updated.” and the changes aren’t saved.
  • When adding the email address via eM Client it’ll add it but when it syncs up to Axigen other information like phone numbers gets lost from the axigen copy (but is retained in eM Client).
  • Contact photos added via iPhone or eM Client don’t sync up to Axigen, however when added via Webmail they do show on iPhone and eM Client.

As for the photo issue, when looking at the Axigen webmail logs I do see this entry each time I try to update a photo: “Picture data length 0”. I’m inclined to think it’s an issue with Axigen parsing the photo as this happens with both iPhone and eM Client.

All in all it just seems really buggy, has anyone else experienced this or have some tips? I really want to make this work because it seems like a good fit for me, but it’s been a battle. I won’t even get into the calendaring/CalDav issues yet, I want to focus on one thing for now.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your report. Please know that we are verifying on our side. So far we were able to replicate the picture not being updated from eM Client and the phone number not being synchronized from eM Client to Webmail.

Please mention the exact versions of Axigen and eM CLient that you use.

Thank you,
Paul

Hi Paul, thanks for looking into it. This is a new install from just last week, so I imagine it’s the latest version. The install file was “Axigen_x64-10.4.0”. This was on Windows Server 2012R2 in case that matters. eM Client was also a fresh install, version 9.2.1222 on Win10.

Full disclosure, I have decided to go a different route with this project, so I won’t really be able to provide any further testing. But probably still worth your team sorting out the bugs for other users.

Thanks,
Todd
