Domain DNS to Axigen Mailserver

Hi everyone

have a (stupid) question …
i started to work in a company with a Axigen Mailserver
and this will be the first time I gonna integrate a new domain on it

i added a MX Record like: mail.domain.com to the Domain DNS
and a testmail reached the Axigen Mailserver
but two things happened …

the writer received:
SMTP error from remote server for MAIL FROM command, host: mail.domain.com (12.345.67.890) reason: 550 rejected by filter

and on the Axigen Mailserver I found this in the log:
>> 503 No recipient accepted for this mail

what are the correct DNS records to make it work ?
I gonna ask, because I tried a few other things that I found on google
but no success yet :unamused:

thanks in advance! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hello,

For sure there is a misunderstanding as a message is either accepted (so it is locally delivered) OR rejected with a 5xx code. As it seems you are not ready to share any useful information regarding your domain my suggestion is to open a support ticket so you could receive targeted recommendations for your specific installation.

In your example you have two 5xx codes (550 and 503) and for sure a message could not have 2 reject codes.

BR,
Ioan

the writer receives a Mailer-Deamon with the 550
and if I check the Log-Files on the Axigen Mailserver I find the 503 there

is there anything else to the MX Record I have to add to the domain DNS?
or does it need any configuration on the Axigen for a new domain as well ?

First you need to add A record for mail.test.com.
next you need to add a MX record in domain test.com related to A record mail.test.com.
then Check your domain with https://mxtoolbox.com and look for test.com.

it must return the correct information.
