How to send E-Mails from a public folder using a client like Outlook or Thunderbird?

hello community

I have a question about public folders …
when I create a public folders, and active the “allow domain members to send mail from this public email address”
the user gets the permission to send e-mails from this public adress from axigen webmail, what is really nice
but how to send/answer emails from this public address when using Outlook or Thunderbird?
In this chase the only possibility seems to answer with a personal e-mail address stored in the client

is there a possibility ?

Hello,

Your mail client (like Thunderbird or Outlook) should have an option to change the From address when composing a new mail in order to allow you to send from other address that the one used for authentication.

Not sure how this is done in Outlook but in Thunderbird you may choose to customize your From address or to use different identities for same account (as explained here).

If you already managed to find the needed settings into your mail client but the message get rejected than please double check this KB as by default Axigen is allowing to send only with the same address as the one used for authentication.

HTH,
Ioan

Fantastic! Just tried it, and it works fine!
Now i just have to find out how it behaves with outlook,
since we are working with a mixed environment here

thank You so much
