IMAP client/folder

Hi team, I’m trying to setup my email account using an IOS app(re:work), and athough credentials and all other details are correct, it fails every time. For this I’ve created a ticket to the devs of that app, and their response was:

We checked the log, and you seemed to fail to complete the setup of the IMAP account. It was failed to create a folder for Notes of this IMAP account. I think your IMAP server doesn’t allow the client to create a folder. Could you make sure that your IMAP server’s web settings allow the client to create a folder to sync?

How can I modify/adapt this setting?
Thank you!

Thank you for any insight on this.

Hello Claudiu,

There are no options that will allow you to create a folder called Notes via IMAP because that folder already exists (but it is hidden) and store the “notes” entered via WebMail interface.

a1 create Notes
a1 NO CREATE failed: Folder exists [0 msec; srop: 0; srb: 0; srw: 0; swop: 0; swb: 0; sww: 0; frop: 0; frb: 0; frw: 0; fwop: 0; fwb: 0; fww: 0]

a2 select Notes
* FLAGS (\Seen \Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Draft $MDNSent $Forwarded $Completed)
* 1 EXISTS
* 0 RECENT
* OK [PERMANENTFLAGS (\Seen \Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Draft $MDNSent $Forwarded $Completed \*)] Permanent flags
* OK [UIDNEXT 3] Predicted next UID
* OK [UIDVALIDITY 70329636] UIDs valid

Our suggestion is to ask the app dev team to take this into consideration and adapt their IMAP client accordingly.
