Is Cyren Working?

I have a license for Cyren. In Security & Filtering, Cyren is enabled, but looking at message filters for the domain the Actions column for Cyren has “Enabled (read only).” Also, in the Admin Summary of the dashboard it says “There are no active AntiVirus / AntiSpam applications.”

I can’t find a way to get Cyren out of read only mode and documentation on configuring it doesn’t seem to exist.

I appreciate any assistance on how to determine if it is working correctly and how to fix it if it is not working correctly.

Hello Norm,

First of all you have to start Cyren service from WebAdmin > Services > Services Management

After that you could check if Cyren service in running fine by going to Security & Filtering > Antivirus & Antispam > Supported Applications and check its status (it should be displayed as Available).

If all looks fine you could enable Cyren filtering by going to Security & Filtering > Antivirus & Antispam > Cyren Antivirus and Antispam.

Please remember that in case you have enabled Cyren filter but for whatever reason the Cyren service is not running (the Cyren application status is not Available) all messages will be stucked into the queue, waiting for Cyren to became Available.
