Outbound SMTP Server Timeout

Good Day,

I use Axigen as a proxy and security policy enforcement platform. Mail is delivered via MX record to my company mail server, processed for security policy enforcement, and then forwarded on to an external mail service. The issue is the external mail service seems to be having issues with capacity, and while they provide 12 IP addresses for their two MX records, my server can take up to fifteen (15) minutes to establish a connection with one of these IP addresses (SMTP mail servers) due to timeouts from the mail service’s mail servers.

My question is, is there a place where I can control the amount of time Axigen will wait for the remote mail server to connect/respond? I’d like to shorten this window so I can remove as much of the delay as possible and not have my mail server sitting around waiting for a time out. Basically, Axigen –> try to connect on port 25, wait for 10 seconds, No-Connection, drop the connection, and move on to the next SMTP server IP for the external mail service.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
