Redundancy/Fault Tolerance Options

Good Morning,

I am wondering, what are the recommendations for setting up my Axigen server with some sort of redundancy/fault tolerance? I’ve experienced issues where I reboot the server, but when it comes back up it doesn’t run the Axigen service. So the mail server is down and I don’t know it. I’d like to configure some sort of monitoring and fault tolerance/redundancy. What is it that everyone else is doing or recommends? Please advise, thanks.

Hello,

You should configure a monitoring service (on your premise, like Zabbix or “cloud” based, like UptimeRobot ) so you could be alerted when your Axigen server is not working properly.

You could start by monitoring port 25 (which will confirm that you could receive messages), port 143/993 (which will confirm that IMAP service is accessible) and port 80/443 (which will confirm that you could connect to the Axigen WebMail interface).

HTH,
Ioan
