Server does not allow email addresses with double _ (underscore)

I have a friend who has chosen to have two _ (underscore) after each other and just before the @ sign in his email address. I can mail him directly but I am not allowed to add his address to mailing lists. It says “Please enter a correct email address”.

I am using the free version 10.4.1.

Is there ant setting I can change to allow this email address?

I found a workaround, it is possible to do in CLI. But I am still interested in a way to allow it in the GUI.

Hi @Per42,

Thank you for reporting this. It seems that the e-mail address format within the GUI is set up too strict. This will be fixed in the next patches.

Sharing the workarounds/solutions is always welcomed, as you may help other users facing this issue.
