SPAM settings HowTo

Dear Sirs,

my problem is what many people had before me: some of the legitimate mails (even in-company communications) are sent right to the Trash. I would like to ask for a definitive write up on those sliders in the Spam section. The Help section in the Documentation is not much help in this regard, it’s too short and not really elaborate. Sorry for the noob question - I still can’t figure it out after 4 years of usage.

I use SpamAssassin exclusively, there are no other active engines in the system.
