Hi all,
I’m using Axigen 10.6.8.
When I import users via csv into my addressbook and try to add them to a mailinglist afterwards, I’m getting the error ‘Add to distribution list can be performed only for contact selections that are loaded into memory’.
What can I do?
Do I have to save the contacts somehow after importing them via csv?
Thanks in advance,
Manfred
Hello,
First of all it will be best to clarify that distribution list is not a mailing list.
Secondly, could you provide some simple to replicate steps, preferable including a csv sample with 2-5 contacts?

Ioan
Hi Ioan,
you are perfectly right.
I meant distribution list and not mailing list
I’ve found the following to be reproducible:
When I import addresses via CSV (86 in my case) and immediately afterwards select all of them in the address list to add them to my distribution list, the error message appears.
If I first select 2-3 addresses for inclusion in a distribution list, it works.
After that, I can successfully add all 86 addresses to a distribution list.
It looks to me as if Axigen needs some kind of trigger for the final transfer of the imported addresses.
I’m perfectly fine with this approach and consider the problem solved.
Thanks for your prompt support!
P.S. For the sake of completeness and because you requested it, I’ve attached a test file.

Hello,
I’m glad to know that you find a workaround for the mentioned issue.
My assumption is that the “add contacts to a distribution list” action was selected quicker than the finish of updating all relevant indexes (like sort and search ones) for that specific account’s contacts.
I’ve tried to replicate your report on one of our test systems but failed till now, maybe because the indexes were generated very fast (and I’ve also test with only 10 contacts to be imported in the existing My Contacts folder and not a new one).
Could you please let us know the hardware specs for the system where your Axigen instance is running?
BR,
Ioan
