Webmail mobile issues

Hi,

I love the Axigen platform, but unfortunately the mobile webmail is unusable for me at this stage.

  • The HTML of received messages is completely stripped down and links are not available, even if the filtering level is low. This is a big problem because I can’t trust the webmail when I’m away from my computer for 2FA or other critical purposes.
  • The “From:” input field is not available. I use domain and accounts aliases, and I am not able to send emails from the right identity.

These are two serious issues that make me reconsider Axigen as a whole. Am I a missing something?

No, you are not missing anything as the mobile WebMail interface it is by design very limited in its capabilities.

Not sure if you like to see the desktop version on your mobile device but just in case you like to experiment you may clear the content of mobile_ua.cfg file present into Axigen’s working directory and trigger a reload for Axigen service.

Your solution works but is far from ideal, and is not sustainable in the long term.
I must admit I do not understand this design decision, especially in 2021 when most of the internet traffic is mobile. Are there plans to work on a fully responsive webmail that does not rely on User-Agent strings but on media queries?

​We do not have any plans to make the Desktop WebMail fully responsive, as it’s too heavy and different in terms of user interaction with a mobile one.

We do, however, have plans to replace the current Mobile WebMail application with a new, modern one (as this one is indeed a legacy one), but at this point in time we can’t give you an exact time estimate on when this will be planned.

It breaks my heart, but I guess I will have to install a Rainloop webmail alongside.
