Accidentally deleted account

Hi

what if accidentally deleted a account
any possibility to recover the mails?

thanks for Your help

If you have been making backups, I’d save off what you currently have, restore the last backup, export that account’s e-mail, bring back the current data and then import that account’s e-mail.

Axigen Mail Server - How to restore a backup of the working directory

Of course, one of the real Axigen experts might have a better way.

Hello,

The primary method to restore a deleted account is from a backup. The exact steps depend on the way that the beckup was performed, respectively whether it is a full backup of the Axigen working directory or an FTP / FUSE backup. Please specify if a backup is available and how was it performed.

Best regards,
Paul

BackUp exist, yes!

but I cant overwrite the whole Data
is there any way to recover only that account or these mails from it ?

thanks in advance

Hello,

Thank you for the response.

In order to restore the account you can create a new account in Axigen and then copy the content of the deleted account from your backup from the path, for example:

/mnt/backup/domain_name/accounts/account_name

over the new account at the path, for example:

/mnt/axigen/domain_name/accounts/new_account

where /mnt/axigen/ would be the FUSE mount point where you mount your domain in Axigen.

If you wish to perform the restore over Axigen’s FTP service, you may refer to the KB article available at:

https://www.axigen.com/kb/show/186

Similarly, the KB article presents the restore for an entire domain but in this case you will navigate into the FTP folder structure to:

→ domain_name → accounts → new_account

and just copy the content of the account from your backup.

Best regards,
Paul
