Bug report - License related issues

I want to report following issue that I’m experiencing, related to Axigen licensing.

=== Description ===

Today (23 Jan 2022) I had discovered that my Agigen installation has crashed. When I looked to the logs, I had discovered that the license got stopped because of the license reason.

The existing license has expired and from unknown for me reason, the server attempted to start (without my agreement) a trial license (instead of switching into community (free) license), with showed up also as expired.

Additionally, I looked over the Axigen’s Knowledge base and there was no information about where (in with folder) to put the aquired thru the website license file, because since the axigen server is stopped, the WebAdmin does not work as well and does not allow to apply the new license.

=== Possible sollutions ===

Even if the license becomes expired, there should be a possibility to start the server and access the WebAdmin to apply a new license

Additionally, please modiffy the licensing plan that the installation for not commercial (non-profit, hobby, home, etc. usage) is functionally not limited

Hello,

Thank you for your report.

When the license is expired the service will not start. This is by design and will not be changed.

I’ll share your report to the dep in charge with license generation so it will include some details (or reference to a KB) for the unfortunate situation when the service is down and the new licence has to be manually applied.

Ioan

Hello,

like @mcgiwer said, is it possible to make the free licence perpetual ? (or have an autorenewal policy ?)

Regards,

Edouard

I’ll share your report to the dep in charge with license generation so it will include some details (or reference to a KB) for the unfortunate situation when the service is down and the new licence has to be manually applied.

It would be great if the changes were done as soon as possible.

As I wrote in my first message, there is no instruction how to apply the license manually and there is no information where to put the license file to make it become applied.

Additionally, the license validity should start to be counted not from the date when it was generated, but since first apply. Counting it from the generation date is not fair because the validity of it will flow, even if the license is not used

Hello,

I have double checked the content of the templates used for license communications and I could see that in the email message (at the end) there is a section called A list of frequently used resources which is listing the following KB: Applying your Axigen License Key, like below:

Is this KB not listed in the email message used to communicate your license?

Please advice.

Ioan
