AXIGEN Wins Most Innovative Software Product Prize at 2006 Romanian IT&C Awards

Bucharest, March 16, 2007 – AXIGEN Mail Server, the professional messaging solution developed by Gecad Technologies received yesterday "The Most Innovative Software Product" prize at the 2006 Romanian IT&C Awards.

"We are deeply honored by this prize, as it represents a well deserved reward after 3 years of hard work of our dedicated team of 60 highly specialized computer specialists. We strongly believe that AXIGEN incorporates a powerful and innovative technology, which will prove in the years to come that Romanians are creative and talented, and that Romania is a country which produces valuable, worldwide acknowledged technology," said Oana Bornaz, AXIGEN/Gecad Technologies CEO.

The first commercial version of AXIGEN Mail Server was launched at the LinuxWorld London exhibition, in October 2005. Currently, AXIGEN products are distributed around the world through a network of 65 partners in 48 countries.

Also, the only Romanian mail server developer recently announced the conclusion of a tehcnological partneship with the world's leading network hardware and software solutions manufacturer, Sun Microsystems, Inc., thus becoming an Associate Partner in the Sun Partner Advantage Program for Independent Software Vendors.

"The development process is on schedule. Version 3.0 is currently being beta tested and will be commercially launched at the end of this month. The new features included in this version will further facilitate the companies’ communication processes and will especially respond to the more complex messaging needs of Service Providers. By the end of this year we will be also launching other versions with additional features and enhancements, and will port AXIGEN Mail Server of the Microsoft and Apple platforms," commented Oana Bornaz.

Development and marketing investments for AXIGEN products amounted to 3.5 million Euro by the end of 2006, while an additional 1.5 million Euro are scheduled to be invested in research and development activities this year. The company’s development plans also include the objective of successfully concluding new technological and commercial partnerships with some of the major players in the Romanian and international IT industry.
