Installing Axigen

Axigen is an Internet-based mail server that provides messaging services over the Internet via connections using a Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) network.

Axigen sends email messages by using the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). The messages can be retrieved using the Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3), the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), and WebMail.

Additionally, mailboxes can be accessed and / or synchronized with various mobile devices using the ActiveSync protocol.

Accessing the mailbox is platform independent. This means that no matter the platform on which Axigen is installed, users can access their mailboxes from any platform, as long as they use a client aware of the previously mentioned protocols. For example, if Axigen is installed on a Linux platform, users can access the mailbox from a Windows, Linux platform, or mobile device specific operating system.

Axigen's mail storage integrates a proprietary technology that allows storing messages in a special directory structure, guaranteeing an effective, fast mail flow and optimizing space-saving.
